The autumn meeting of the World City Izmir Association (DIDER) was held at the Historical Havagazı Factory Youth Campus. The meeting was attended by Tunç Soyer, Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Honorary President of DIDER, representatives of non-governmental organizations and Izmir business world, consuls general and honorary consuls. Delivering the opening speech, Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mr. Soyer emphasized the importance of the work of the World City Izmir Association and said, "The idea of DIDER was a very exciting idea from the moment it first emerged.  The world city of Izmir, with its name and glory, actually represents the vision of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. As Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, our main mission is to return Izmir, which has been one of the most important port cities of the world for thousands of years, to one of the most important port cities of the Mediterranean. We want to bring Izmir back to the old days."
